Blood of Elves – Andrzej Sapkowski
Fiction / 17th March 2022

Introduction Blood of Elves is a fantasy novel. I know this book from The Witcher, both the game and Netflix series. This is the first book in the Witcher Saga. Author Andrzej Sapkowski is a Polish author.  He is the recipient of the David Gemmell Award and the World Fantasy Life Achievement Award. Contents Blood of Elves has only 7 chapters. Review Though Blood of Elves is the first book in this series, the readers might not get part of the story if you have not read or watch or play The Witcher before. Nonetheless, as I have watched the Netflix series, so I could follow the story. Even as a standalone story, I think it is understandable but it will leave the readers with some questions. As I have high expectation for this book, I am slightly disappointed. Besides that, there are some words that I could not find the meaning such as lefrex. I hope that the next book would be better but I would not read The Time of Contempt anytime soon. Quote – Rating Interested in Blood of Elves? You may get the book from through the link below*. Djinn City – Saad Z. Hossain
Fiction / 23rd May 2021

Introduction Djinn City is a fantasy novel. I stumbled upon this book when I was looking for a fiction to read. Author Saad Z. Hossain is a Bangladeshi author. He has written 3 books since 2015. Contents Djinn City has a total of 52 chapters, a glossary, and 2 appendices. Every chapter has a title but I am not going to list them here due to the sheer amount of words. Review Djinn City has 3 male protagonists: Indelbed, Kaikobad, and Rais. They are all from the Khan Rahman clan. There are a lot of twists in the story which I did not expect. The story involves some mystic creatures, legendary creations, and magic. Furthermore, the djinns in the book are not the conventional type that we know. The author mentions some Southeast Asian countries in the book, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Besides that, he also includes some scientific knowledge such as anatomy, genetic, and physics. But I am not sure if everything in the book is true or not. Overall, Djinn City is a good read. It teaches the lesson of not giving up even when the going is tough. Persevere through the hardship and you might be…
