English When Genius Failed is about the now defunct Long-Term Capital Management. This hedge fund recruited a host of prominent traders and scholars, included 2 Nobel Laureates in Economic Sciences. However, it still ended in failure. This book gives us a glimpse into the rise and failure of this firm. When hearing about the recent debacle of Credit Suisse, it seems like the same mistakes were repeated again. Nonetheless, history does not repeat, but it rhymes. I believe the failures shared some of the same attributes. After reading this book, you might have known the reasons when some financial firms fail in the future. 中文 《生活需要界限感》虽然是一本鸡汤，不过它并不油腻。作者所写的故事都很好地带出了他想要表达的观点。你不需要完全同意，不过我相信你一定可以从这本书找到一些共鸣点。无论多亲密，人与人之间都是要有点界限，就看你自己怎么设置了。

English In 2022, I only managed to finish 19 books, which is below my target of 2 books per month. On average, I only read 1.58 books/month. I am not very happy with this achievement, but given the circumstances and other chores that I was doing during 2022, I think this is acceptable. There are 10 English books out of these 19 books. Out of these 10 books, I rated 9 as 3-star. These books are Beautiful World, Where Are You, Everybody Writes, Guide to Investment Strategy, How Children Fail, Richer, Wiser, Happier, The Lost City of Z, The Seven-Day Weekend, The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down, and Think Like An Entrepreneur, Act Like A CEO. I would try to hit my target of 2 books per month in 2023. 中文 我在去年一共只读了十九本书，比前年的四十本少了一半以上。我的平均阅读速度是每月一点五八本书，低于我月读二书的目标。 十九本书里只有九本是中文书籍。这九本书中我只给了七本书三星的评价。这七本书是《跟美国幼儿园老师学早教》、《33张图秒懂OKR》、《财务自由之路II》、《读懂一本书》、《一人公司的致富思维》、《加速你的FIRE人生》以及《一张图看懂10位投资大师的致富之道》。 我将会尝试在二零二三年恢复月读二书的水平。

Even though the ideas in the book were written decades ago, some are still relevant today. In this book, the most important lesson that I learned from this book is to facilitate real learning for the children. Real learning happens when we are able to apply the knowledge in life. Without this, all knowledge learned are just useless. 中文 《一人公司的致富思维》分享了作者如何把自己的YouTube频道经营成功的心路历程。他在书中毫无保留地分享了自己的经验，并为读者指出了一条明路。就算你不想经营YouTube频道，我认为你也可以在书中学到一些能够使自己在生活中更上一层楼的方法。

English Richer, Wiser, Happier is a great book about value investing. The author profiles a number of great investors in the book and we can learn from them. The most important thing is to devise an investing style that suits oneself. There are plenty of lessons to be learned from this book and we could choose those that appeal to us. 中文 《读懂一本书》使我获益良多。作者在书中无私分享了他的读书方式，为的就是通过自主读书、讲书让越来越多有用的知识普及化。就算你不想讲书或写书评，这本书也会提升你的阅读能力。

English Think Like An Entrepreneur, Act Like A CEO is a great book for employees. It contains advice to improve your career. Though I do not agree with everything in the book, the others make sense. If we are able to practise the tips, I believe it is hard not to progress well in our career. 中文 上个月只读了一本书，不过还不到三星的评价，所以就不推荐它了。

English Although I finished reading a book in August 2022, I have no time to write the review as I am preparing for the Registered Financial Planner examination. Thus, I have no recommendation for this month. 中文 最近忙着准备注册财务规划师的考试，所以没时间阅读。过了这个月后应该就会比较有时间看书了。
